In the pilot, General Bond is only a voice — commanding, detached, and slightly smug on a secure channel. He oversees the project from somewhere far away and answers Bradley’s urgency with cold patience.
Bond represents the entire system Greg and Tom are up against. He never meets them; he doesn’t need to. His priorities are simple and chilling — the sample comes first, the brass is his to manage, and people are resources to be spent. “Get it done, Bradley.” Whether he and the pair ever stand in the same room is a thread the series leaves dangling.
